Using PHP on IBM i to create Mobile Applications PHP can be used to take existing application and modernize them for the web. The same Modernization approach can be used to create easy and valuable mobile applications supporting sales and managment users through mobile devies such as the iPhone. This presentation looks at the architecture, the interface, and the applications, so you can learn how to use PHP on IBM i to 'mobilize' your applications.
Re-architecting IBM i Applications for the web using PHP Getting legacy applications to become web-based applications often requires more than just re-facing. Web applications offer new interface considerations and new application paradigms that can drive applications in direstion that 5250 interfaces could never contemplate. Establishing the right architecture is critical in modernizing applications to re-write as litte working code as possible, while focusing development resources on the changes in interface and processing that drive the most value. PHP offers IBM i customers a rapid path towards this kind of modernization.
